For the longest time Reality television had a bad reputation. Popular Shows like “Keeping Up with The Kardashians,” Which aired in 2007 viewers got extremely mad when Kim Kardashian was known for leaking her sex tape to make her famous. Many people believe that she did nothing to make her famous. Parents felt she was not a good role model. Then, in 2009 came another reality show that we couldn’t all help but love, gym…tan…laundry…Jersey Shore. After that was big everyone seemed to forget about morals and values and all of a sudden the Guido and Guidette lifestyle was in. Some people even say that it was shows like that was what ruined our society. Now we are living in 2020, there are new reality shows out that have a twist.
Netflix recently came out with “Too Hot to Handle.” Which is interesting is you may think it is like any other reality television but it actually has a positive premise behind it. Just like all the others a group of young men and women got to a remote retreat for a month. This time they think they are going to party and have fun. That was the life they have always been living. They are in for a huge awakening. When they get to the resort on the first night, after they get adjusted an AI system is the host which is pretty neat and hits them with the news. They have to refrain from abstaince the whole time they are there. the group that is able to do that wins $100,000 prize. If they are caught kissing, hooking up or breaking any of the rules they have to pay $3,000 dollars.
It is an interesting concept in 2020. It is also interesting having an AI system as a host. It makes me see how we advanced so far with technology and how we will in the future. It was very interesting watching how in 2020 so many people when they are told not to do something have trouble, even though it is the right thing to do.
Now granted for years there has always been rebellion and liberation moments. Have we become too free that we do not as a society do the right thing? Have we not become too liberated that we become too disconnected with others?
If you were go into introspection and look at the world we live in how many of us have meaningful relationships compared to where we were years ago? How many of us are loving and kind to each other? How many focus on building connections with each other instead of getting in a relationship and getting out or focusing only on yourself?

What led us to become this way? Is it the media? Have we chose poor role models? That we forgot to do what is right and how to treat others with respect?
I believe that “Too Hot too Handle” can make us look at what it is to leave behind a lustful life. Leave behind a life full of sin and partying and focusing on building connections with someone you really care about. Yes, we were all young once but it is time we go back to old school values. It is time we bring more morals and respect back. It is time we learn what it is like to love someone and build a connection with them rather than just have random hook ups. I am so glad that this show aired. I feel that there should be more shows like this teaching viewers the powers of what it is like to truly love someone, how to build a connection with someone and how to be a better person than you were in your past.
“Too Hot to Handle,” is on Netflix. You can decide if it is for you. It has laughs, drama but overall it has a great premise behind it. It is a show you do not want to miss!
